How to Compare Bill of Materials between Plan Versions
This guide describes how to use the 'Compare BOM Version' feature in Estimate to compare the bill of materials of two versions of the same plan using the same workbook.
For master plans and location plans, this BOM comparison compares the base home. For home plans, this BOM comparison compares the home with the latest configured options.
Note: The versions available for comparison refer to versions of published Studio files. Any version of a master plan, location plan or home plan uses the most current options in Config in conjunction with the dated version of a published Studio file.
Open a plan in Estimate. Here, we are showing an example of opening a home plan.
Select a Workbook you'd like to use to compute your measures and bill of materials.
Navigate to the bill of materials tab to see the quantities of each item needed for the home.
Click on Views and select 'Compare Versions'.
Select the version you want to compare to.
See the comparison of the quantities for both versions and a column for the difference between the two versions.
Use this button on the far right to swap which version is used as the base during the comparison.
Click on the x on Compare Versions to close out of the comparison view.
