Introduction
The Options tab on a location page gives you a pre-filtered view of the Option Catalog scoped to that location. Instead of navigating to the full Option Catalog and applying location filters manually, you can open any Division, Community, or Phase and immediately see all options tied to the plans at that location — and edit them in place.
This allows you to:
View all options across every plan associated with a location in one consolidated list.
Override option and option set values (name, enabled/disabled status, base, sales category, price, etc.) at the location level.
Apply changes across multiple plans at once, reducing repetitive plan-by-plan configuration.
Set regional or community-level standards that apply automatically when plans are added to the location.
Tip: Location level overrides are currently incompatible with Locking workflows. Please avoid applying overrides using this feature if you frequently lock home plans.
Accessing Location Options
Finding the Options Tab
Navigate to Locations
Open any location — a Division, Community, or Phase
Click the Options tab in the location's top navigation bar
Tip: The Options tab is only visible if your account has this feature enabled. If you do not see it, contact your Higharc account team.
Understanding the Interface
The Options tab renders the same Option Catalog interface you may already be familiar with, but pre-filtered to the current location. You do not need to apply location filters manually — the location is locked in automatically.
Key Concepts
Options tab vs. Option Catalog: The Options tab is a location-scoped entry point into the catalog. The full Option Catalog (accessed from your dashboard) shows all options across all locations. The Options tab shows only the options tied to plans at the selected location.
Overrides: Any edits you make here generate overrides — changes applied at the plan level that differ from the global option setup in Studio. Overrides are tracked and can be cleared at any time.
Inheritance: If a location has child locations (e.g., a Division contains Communities), changes made at the parent location apply to child plans through inheritance unless a child has its own override.
Views
Option Sets View (default) - Shows all option sets at this location. Click the expand icon to see individual options within each set.
Options View - A flat list of all individual options at this location. Switch to this view using the Options toggle at the top of the page.
Filters
Use the controls in the top navigation to narrow the list:
Control | Description |
Option Sets / Options toggle | Switch between option sets view and individual options view |
Sales Categories | Filter to options belonging to one or more sales categories |
Option Set Type | Filter by Standard, Linked, or System option sets |
Reset | Clear all filters and return to the default view |
Editing Options at a Location
Editing options from the Location Options tab follows the same workflow as the full Option Catalog. Changes generate overrides that apply to the plans at this location.
Step 1: Find the Option
Use the Sales Categories or Option Set Type filters to narrow the list, if needed.
Toggle to the Options or Option Sets view depending on what you want to edit.
Locate the option or option set you want to modify.
Step 2: Make Changes
Select the rows you want to modify then click the Edit button that appears at the top of the page.
For Option Sets, you can modify:
Name
Base Option
Description
Builder Option ID
Enabled/disabled status
Sales category
Showroom Intro Overrides
For Options, you can modify:
Name
Description
Price (fixed, TBD, or cleared to inherit)
Enabled/disabled status
External ID
Sales image(s)
To switch between viewing or editing the option set or options within it, click on the option/option set names on the left side panel.
Step 3: Review
Click Review.
The system shows the scope of proposed changes — which plans will be affected.
Deselect any plans that should be excluded from the update.
Use the Blocked tab to discard downstream overrides that are preventing a change from applying.
Step 4: Save
Click Save All to apply the changes. An override indicator will appear on the edited rows confirming the change has been applied.
Tip: To apply a change across all plans at this location at once, do not deselect anything in the Review screen — simply click Save All.
Note: Changes made here generate overrides on the individual plans at this location. If you later want to revert to the Studio-level default, you will need to clear the override from the affected plan.
How Location-Level Options Work with Plan Hierarchy
When you configure an option at a location, that configuration is applied to all matching plans at the location and inherited by any child locations beneath it.
Example: A Division called "North Texas" sets Masonry Exterior A as the base option. All Communities and Phases inside North Texas will inherit that setting — unless a child location has its own override for the same option.
If a child location (e.g., Community "Sunny Meadows") sets Masonry Exterior B as base, the child's override takes precedence for all plans within Sunny Meadows.
Tip: Child location overrides always supersede parent location overrides for the same option.
Common Workflows
Workflow 1: Disable an Option Across All Plans at a Community
Open the Community in Locations.
Click the Options tab.
Switch to Options view.
Find the option you want to disable (use Sales Category filter if needed).

Click Save All.
Workflow 2: Set a Base Option for an Entire Division
Open the Division in Locations.
Click the Options tab..
Switch to Options view
Search for the option set (e.g., "Exterior Masonry").
Expand the option set and click Edit on the option to set as base.
Set the option as Base.
Click Review, confirm plans across the Division are listed.

Notes & Best Practices
The location is pre-filtered when you open the Options tab — you do not need to apply location filters manually.
Use the Sales Categories filter before searching for a specific option to get precise results.
If an option does not appear in the list, it may not exist in any plan currently assigned to this location.
Overrides made here apply to all matching plans at this location; use the Review step to exclude specific plans if needed.
For bulk changes across multiple locations, use the full Option Catalog from your dashboard instead.
Troubleshooting
Options tab is not visible on the location page:
This feature must be enabled for your account. Contact your Higharc account team.
Confirm you have the
VIEW_OPTION_CATALOGpermission. If not, contact your account administrator.
Option I expected is not listed:
The option may not be assigned to any plan at this location yet.
Check that the plan containing this option has been added to the location.
Try resetting filters using the Reset button.
Changes are not applying to some plans:
Open the Review screen and check the Blocked tab — a downstream override may be preventing the change.
Select the blocked rows and clear their overrides to include them in the update.
I edited an option but it reverted:
Confirm you clicked Save All in the Review step — exiting without saving discards changes.
Check for a downstream override that may have superseded the change.
