QR Codes are an annotation type specific to Live Plans that can be used to automatically generate QR codes that link to any website, including the Showroom view for any given lot.
Creating QR Codes
In the Live Plans context, create a new annotation & select the QR Code type. Note: QR Code annotations cannot be hosted to rooms, levels, or model views.
Place the annotation & it will be automatically created with a default size of 2”. The annotation will appear as an empty bounding box until a URL has been defined.
Setting the Target URL
To generate the QR code image, provide a target URL via one of the following workflows:
Define an explicit URL in the provided field.
Behavior: The QR code will always link to the provided website.
Use Cases: link to the landing page of a company website.
Click the icon to parameterize the URL.
Behavior: The QR code will dynamically update to link to the current value of the parameter.
Use Cases:
Use the HomePlanShowroomURL System Global parameter to dynamically generate a QR code that links to Showroom for any lot in Config.
Create a custom URL parameter & define a unique URL for each plan or each market in which you build.
Other Considerations
The density of the QR code will automatically adapt to the length of the URL provided. Longer URLs require more dense QR codes that must be printed at a larger size.
If the QR code does not meet the minimum size requirements to be scanned on a printed document, Studio will provide an inline notification.
