Overview
Reporting Unit labels identify which geometry belongs to which unit in a Townhome or Multi-unit property, enabling downstream systems, such as Live Plans sheet templates and Showroom, to filter by unit. Without reporting units, all building geometry within a Studio file is treated as a single mass and cannot be filtered by unit.
Note: Reporting Unit label support is currently limited to select entity types. Expansion to nearly all entity types is in development.
Assigning Reporting Unit Labels Per Unit or Lot
In the Catalogs tab, create a new label by clicking the + button next to ‘Labels’ for each unit or lot you want to report downstream.
With a label selected, in the Inspector, check the box to enable ‘Reportable Unit Designation’.
Repeat the steps above for each unit in your building.
With a unit component instance selected, in the Inspector, assign the appropriate label by clicking the + button next to ‘Labels’ and choose a label from the dropdown list. Repeat this step for each unit label desired. Note that Roofs will also need to be labeled separately if separate from the unit component so that they report as one unit downstream.
To verify unit filtering, click on the ‘3D’ view tab and then anywhere on a blank part of the 3D canvas and over in the Inspector, under ‘Reporting Unit Visualization’, toggle between units to highlight selected unit. All other geometry will grey out, letting you confirm what will filter downstream.
Tip: See 'Townhomes in Showroom' for more information on how Reporting Unit Visualization displays downstream of Studio.
