September 15, 2026 🧮 Map It Faster: Improved Item Mappings & Product Line Hierarchy

Higharc Release Notes

Highlights

Improved Item Mappings — Estimate mappings now have a more flexible formula builder and a clearer view of every mapping at a glance.

Location Hierarchy: Product Line — A sixth layer now sits between Communities and Phases in the Location Hierarchy, so communities that span multiple product series or types can be managed together in a single map. This layer requires account configuration, so contact Higharc staff to enable it.

✏️ For Design & Drafting

What's New

  • Added a door swing toggle that lets you cycle through swing configurations before placing a door, and automatically populates the Swing Side parameter on placement.

  • Added controls to show or hide room tags on section and interior elevation views.

  • Added a "Select All / Deselect All" master toggle to the View Override checklist, with optional per-section toggles, reducing the effort required to apply overrides across many views.

  • Added "Send to Top" and "Send to Bottom" context-menu options for entities and folders, so you can reposition items in long hierarchy lists without dragging.

  • Improved Electrical Settings: pressing Delete on an electrical rule no longer removes it without warning, and applied electrical rules are now listed in the Suppress Electrical section.

Renamed Properties

  • Catalog ID is now Casework Type, and casework Tag is now Reported Name.

  • For Props, Floor Plan Tag is now Reported Name. For Electrical, Plan Label is now Reported Name.

These bring Studio naming in line with Estimate and the existing casework standard.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where roof ridge caps were assigned the same material as roof planes in GLB exports. Caps now receive a distinct material assignment.

  • Added missing tooltips to buttons throughout the UI that previously showed no tooltip on hover.

  • Extended dark mode support to the Manage Authors and Debugging Info modal windows.

  • Aligned the View Template Override Inspector and View Layer Inspector with the View Override Inspector, so select/deselect all, reset, and invert controls now behave consistently across all three.

🖼️ For Sales & Marketing

What's New

  • Added a sixth layer to the Location Hierarchy, named Product Line by default, sitting between Communities and Phases. This layer requires account configuration. Please contact Higharc staff to enable it.

  • Added a lock icon to the Config Studio Files list showing active file lock status and who has the file locked, so you can check availability without opening the file.

  • Added the ability for Linked Options to modify the image of another option.

  • Home Plan Versioning (Beta): Added a version timestamp to webhook response bodies, including the date and time each home plan was pinned or refreshed.

  • Fixed the default position of the Enabled column in the expanded view of an option set so it aligns with the Enabled column of the parent table.

Fixes

  • Fixed a regression where the "Disable New Options" setting was not preventing newly published options — including those nested inside existing options — from being added as enabled to community plans.

🧾 For Estimating

Improved Item Mappings (details inside)

Estimate mappings now have a more flexible formula builder and easier inspection of your mappings at a glance. What's improved:

  • Mappings attached to a measure are condensed into a single line, so you can see a summary of all mappings at once. This includes a one-line description of the formula to easily verify the equation.

  • You can change the sort order of the mappings list by clicking a column header.

  • Clicking a mapping lets you edit it, including converting the unit of measure for the output and building formulas with an unlimited number of operations.

  • You can now edit a mapping when clicking into it from the Bill of Materials tab.

  • Navigate to a specific measure group in the Measures tab or a specific item in the Bill of Materials tab using Go to Item or Go to Measure from within a mapping.

  • Edits to mappings autosave, so you can return at any time to continue editing. Incomplete mappings are also autosaved — for example, if a formula exists but the cost code and item are not yet populated.

  • Column headings for the items table are now in the same order across the UI, the item download file, and the item upload template.
