Custom Room Tags for Live Plans (full breakdown)

You can now create fully customizable room tags to control exactly how room information appears on your live plan sheets.

Apply Room Tags Drawing-wide with View Templates

Assign any room tag type to a view template using a simple dropdown. Five new default templates cover the most common room label configurations, including Room Name, Ceiling Height, Floor Material, Room Dimensions, and Room Area. If you’d like to use the Built-in tags, choose None, which will allow you to apply tags on a room by room basis.

Make Simple Overrides

While view templates make it easy to apply a Room Tag style to everything at once, you can also apply Room Tag Templates directly to a Room. This enables you to make exceptions on a room-by-room basis; for example, Room Tags could display dimensions for some rooms but not all.

Author Reusable Templates

Design reusable room tag templates directly in the Catalog under Tags in the Drawing tab. Compose your layout using any combination of annotation and system parameters, and style the text to match your documentation standards. All system templates can be duplicated and customized, giving you a convenient starting point.

Rich System Parameters

Room Tag templates can now display a comprehensive set of room data parameters: room name, ceiling height, floor material, room dimensions, room area, room type, and a tag details field. Dimension values intelligently select between bounding box and maximal rectangle calculations for accuracy, and can be overridden per room in the Room Inspector.

Improved 3D Interaction

  • Windows and Doors are now editable directly in 3D! Click the entity to directly edit its position along an edge.

Renamed Balusters in Railings

  • Renamed Railing ā€œBalustersā€ to ā€œInfillā€ so that Higharc can support more types of railing assemblies in upcoming iterations. The ā€œNoneā€ option allows you to generate railings without Balusters.

Fixes!

  • Fixed a 500 error that was preventing FBX asset uploads across all environments.

šŸ–¼ļø For Sales & Marketing

Showroom: Drag-to-Explore Added

  • The Showroom Intro 3D viewer now displays a "Drag to explore" overlay with a hand grab icon and a gentle auto-rotate animation after the house finishes loading.

  • Both the overlay and auto-rotate dismiss on first user interaction, such as dragging the camera or changing the view mode.

  • This enhancement is automatically skipped on lower-performance devices to preserve a smooth experience.

Location-Level Phone Numbers

  • Builders can now add phone numbers at any location level in location details. Previously phone numbers could only be set at the builder level, meaning all locations shared the same number in sales brochures.

  • Similar to other location-level settings, the location phone number is hierarchical and the Sales Agent's phone number supersedes the settings before it: Builder phone > Parent location phone > Child location phone > Sales agent phone.

Notes and External ID columns on Home Plans Tab

  • The Home Plans tab now supports optional Notes and External ID columns. These fields can be toggled on from the column menu and are included in search results when enabled.

Fixes!

  • Resolved an issue where Option Catalog CSV exports showed $0 or TBD for pricing instead of the actual values displayed in the UI.

  • Fixed a crash in the Option Catalog when searching with text enclosed in parentheses.

  • Fixed an issue where an option could be both base and disabled as an override, causing inconsistent behavior across Studio, Showroom, and Showroom Intro.

🧾 For Estimating

2D Length and Area Tool Added

  • The new Measure Tool enables on-screen measuring for 2D views in Estimate.

  • If creating a custom component, you can use the measure tool to trace the length or area for that measurement by clicking on the measure tool in the input.

Renamed Existing Door Attributes

  • Renamed the Floor attribute to Level for the Doors category to align with the standard naming convention used across other component categories

  • Renamed the Panels attribute to Leaves to use correct industry terminology for door panels/slabs

  • No changes to how the attributes are defined.

Added Area Less Openings and Length Less Openings

  • Added Area Less Openings attribute to the Wall Structure category, calculating wall area with door/window opening dimensions (Width Ɨ Height) subtracted

  • Added Length Less Openings attribute, measuring wall length while excluding spans at openings (doors, cased openings, voids)

  • Enables estimators to calculate accurate insulation and material quantities directly from the Wall Structure category with two different methodologies

Fixes!

  • Facades on gable ends of roofs now correctly subtract Standard Exterior Finish material (previously was doubling up exterior finish on gable walls with facades)
