March 31, 2026 ⚙️ Build Smarter: Labels, Smarter Estimates & Controlled API Access

Higharc Release Notes

Important Highlight!!

We have renamed “Entity Tags” to “Labels” within Studio to help clarify the difference between these and Tags for Rooms and other documentation Tags.

✏️ For Design & Drafting

Entity Tags are Now Labels

  • Renamed "Entity Tags" to "Labels" throughout Studio to reduce terminology confusion with documentation tags, like room tags.

New Tile View in the Props Catalog

  • Prop entities are now rendered as a list or a new tiles view in the Catalog.

Search Functionality Added to More Studio Explorer Tabs

  • Added search functionality to all Studio Explorer tabs.

Section View Update

  • A selected section view is now always visible in plan view, so that sections are easier to locate in the editor.

🖼️ For Sales & Marketing

Fixes!!

  • Resolved an issue where the discount (price adjustment) field was excluded from the Home Plans API stats response, despite being factored into the total price returned to API consumers.

  • Resolved an issue where the ERP integration import results search only worked on the first table section, causing options visible in lower sections to not appear in results.

🧾 For Estimating

New Condition Attribute Breaks Up Ceilings by Condition Above and Below

  • Use this new attribute to quantify the locations in the home that require ceiling.

  • The Area Calculation Type property in the Built-in Plan Settings controls how conditioned areas are defined.

    • When set to "By Room Type", the following standards govern conditioned/unconditioned space. When this setting is active, Room Enclosure does not affect this attribute's value in Studio or Estimate.

      • Conditioned Space

        • 71 room types (most interior rooms)

      • Unconditioned Space

        • GARAGE, GARAGE_DETACH

        • FRONT_PORCH, REAR_PORCH, BREEZEWAY, FREESTANDING_FIREPLACE

        • PATIO, WALK, LANDSCAPE

        • PORTICO

    • When set to "By Room Enclosure", the Room Enclosure property governs conditioned/unconditioned space.

      • Conditioned = CONDITIONED

      • Unconditioned = UNCONDITIONED, OPEN, NONE, EXTERIOR

New Floor Material Below & Material attributes added to Interior Millwork & Trim

  • The Material attribute reports the name of the base or crown trim material as defined in Studio

  • The Floor Material Below reports the name of the finish floor directly below the base trim. Use this new attribute to filter base trim by the adjacent finish material & quantify shoe or cove molding.

    • Base trim components will be broken up every time they cross a floor material change or a room boundary

    • This attribute remains blank for crown molding components

API for Bill of Materials CSV for the Base Home Active View.

  • Export BOM (Bill of Materials) data for a Home Plan, Studio Doc, or Master Plan as a CSV file. Returns a presigned URL to download the generated CSV. Exactly one of homePlanId, studioDocId, or masterPlanId must be provided.

  • Master BOM exports via API is not available at the moment.

🧑‍💻 For API Users

Rate limiting for external API users introduced

  • To ensure service stability for all users of the Higharc platform, we have introduced API rate limits.

  • Client API traffic is rate-limited per client app using a points-based window (default: 100 requests per 60 seconds). To monitor usage, check each API response’s X-RateLimit-Limit and X-RateLimit-Remaining headers; when X-RateLimit-Remaining gets low, you are approaching the limit. If the limit is exceeded, the API returns HTTP 429 Too Many Requests with a Retry-After header indicating when to retry.

allowHomePlans Field on Location External API

  • Builders can now read and control whether home plans are allowed at a location via the external API. The allowHomePlans field is available on GET, POST, and PUT /locations endpoints, defaults based on location type, and the API prevents disabling home plans at locations where they already exist.
